Although mining has left, it has paved the way for a wide variety of other industries which, along with agriculture and tourism, create a successful economic blend. Dodgeville, which has a population of 4,220, is home to several internationally recognized companies. Lands’ End, direct merchants of clothing, linens, and luggage, moved to Dodgeville in 1978 and has since reached sales in excess of $1 billion.
