In 2002, Dodgeville opened its new Visitor Information Center. Now visitors to the community that’s at the heart of Iowa County and beautiful Southwest Wisconsin have a resource to help them learn more about the area.
For over a century, Dodgeville has served as the mercantile and lodging hub of the Uplands area. The heart of the town surrounds the historic courthouse less than a mile south of Highway 18 on Highway 23. The healthy, well-balanced mix of specialty shops, professional services and restaurants in Downtown Dodgeville exemplifies an authentic, prosperous American small town.
Green County is lush with its green forests, rolling hills and small streams that call the tourist to the rural country area. Come to bicycle, shop for antiques, amble through museums, canoe, picnic in our parks, hike our trails and just get away from your hectic lifestyle.
A bit to the west on Washington Street, and still along the railroad tracks, a variety of beautiful one-of-a-kind items await you at The Wisconsin Artist Showcase at the Jura Silverman Gallery showing over 100 artists in a converted cheese warehouse.
