Biographical Info

Welcome to the troll capital of the world! Bike, hike, drive or ski through the beautiful countryside. Dine and shop in distinctive surroundings. Watch for trolls!

The careful observer will soon notice why the main road through Mount Horeb is called the Trollway! All of our trolls are waiting to meet you. Be sure to bring your camera, because they want to have their pictures taken with you and your family!

Nature set this unglaciated, or driftless, area apart thousands of years ago, creating rocky and abrupt hills; narrow, winding valleys; and a rugged beauty for all to enjoy.

The hard-working immigrants who settled in this community in the 1840s brought their Norwegian, German, Swiss and Irish influence which is still reflected in late 19th century brick and frame, gingerbread-like houses lining Mount Horeb’s streets, as they have for almost 150 years. We invite you to share the beauty of our community.

Consider a mini-vacation to our village of Mount Horeb and spend a day full of leisure and fun. Enjoy one of our many event-filled weekends.
