New Glarus Hotel Restaurant
Hans Lenzlinger trained as a chef in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland and when he came to the states he searched for just the right spot to use his culinary skills. After some time in Chicago he discovered New Glarus and it quickly became home. In 1975 he purchased the New Glarus Hotel and continued its fine tradition of excellent Swiss cuisine. The Hotel is especially known for its Wienerschnitzel, G’schnetzlets and Swiss fondue and since 1964 the New Glarus Hotel has also been home to polka. You can enjoy the live music of polka musicians every Friday and Saturday night and their recordings are available for sale at local businesses. If you’re not hungry enough for a Swiss meal, enjoy a homemade pizza in the Ticino Pizzeria located just below the hotel on First Street.
