Shake Rag Alley School of Arts and Crafts
A place where creativity lives…Workshops in a variety of literary and visual arts are held in the cluster of historic buildings built by lead miners in the early 19th century. The picturesque oasis of gardens, springs and rambling paths sets the mood for imagination and artistry. Adult classes held from March through November are taught by regional as well as nationally well-known instructors. A Children’s Program includes a full summer program taught by local artisans and an after school program. Special weekend events like Woodlanders, Beads and Bangles, and Garden Getaway attract enthusiasts from around the country.

Alley Stage
A performance venue, tucked into the side of a rock out-cropping at Shake Rag Alley, Alley Stage is an attraction not to be missed. With 130 seats, the audience experience is more intimate than most venues provide. From original theatrical and poetic works, to known plays, from local musicians to regional favorites, Alley Stage provides entertainment that will appeal to all. Dedicated to providing educational opportunities to students learning the craft of theatre, Alley Stage is a true extension of the Shake Rag Alley School of Arts and Crafts.
